Greetings from Mammoth! The Main Lodge at Mammoth Mountain reports 6 inches of snow last night, and we expect to receive 2 to 3 feet on the mountain by midnight tonight. It's a cold storm and that means the powder will be excellent!
Excerpt below from Mammoth Weather:
MAMMOTH MT. HAS PICKED UP 6 INCHES AT THE MAIN LODGE AS OF 8:00PM LOTS MORE TO COME TODAY. STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7:00PM TONIGHT.....STILL EXPECTING BETWEEN 1 AND 2 FEET IN THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH BY TONIGHT AND 2 TO 3 FEET ON MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN BY MIDNIGHT. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL BETWEEN RENO AND MAMMOTH TODAY, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE WARM BLANKETS, FOOD AND WATER FOR THE TRIP. WHITE OUT CONDITIONS CAN STRAND MOTORISTS, AND AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF COLD WITHOUT PREPARATION IS DANGEROUS.
