The wait is over and heavy snow is expected in Mammoth starting tomorrow and throughout next week! The first storm is expected to drop up to 30 inches of snow in Mammoth by Tuesday, and several systems are coming in behind it. Fresh powder this week and into this weekend on Mammoth Mountain! Below is an excerpt from Mammoth Weather:

"CHANGE IN WEATHER PATTERN WILL BEGIN TODAY WITH INCREASING WINDS AND CHILLING TEMPS...MODIFIED ARCTIC AIR ON THE WAY....

WINTER STORM WATCH HOISTED FOR MONO COUNTY, SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT..... MONO COUNTY TO RECEIVE BETWEEN 1 TO 2 FEET OF THE GREATEST SNOW ON EARTH AT RATIO'S OF 25:1! THE CREST OF THE SIERRA COULD RECEIVE UP TO 30 INCHES. WINDS 15 TO 30 WITH GUSTS TO 40MPH WILL CAUSE WHITE OUT CONDITIONS FOR TRAVEL ALONG THE HIGHWAY 395 CORRIDOR BETWEEN MAMMOTH AND RENO.....TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED DURING THIS PERIOD.....IF YOU MUST TRAVEL DURING THE PERIOD MAKE SURE YOU TAKE WARM BLANKETS, FOOD AND WATER FOR THE TRIP. WHITE OUT CONDITIONS CAN STRAND MOTORISTS AND AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF COLD WITHOUT PREPARATION IS DANGEROUS."
